As an attendee, you will be listed in the Live chat. There is a widget at the bottom right of your screen, click to open the live chat box.
Not directly in the chat widget. Your name is pulled from your registration profile. To change how it appears in the chat, click here to modify your registration.
Yes, you can manage this by clicking on your name in the chat widget. Then click on “Sound” to turn the sound on/off.
Technical FAQs
- Make sure your computer, internet browser and all extensions are up to date
- Sign into the event platform 15 minutes early where you can test your connection, audio and video settings. This will give you time to troubleshoot if necessary.
- Check your internet speed. Generally, a speed of 5 Mbps or higher is sufficient.
- Log into the venue using a PC/Mac Computer
- Use the latest version of Google Chrome
- Display screen resolution at 1920x1080
- Disconnect from your company VPN (if applicable)
- Close all tabs, apart from the event ones
- Stable internet connection – Generally a speed of 5 Mbps download or higher is sufficient, check your internet speed using https://www.speedtest.net or https://www.google.com/search?q=speedtest
- Disable ad blockers
- Close other applications on your device during the event
- If possible, avoid other household devices that use the internet during the event
Please see the steps below on how to do so:
- You first require an HDMI cable
- Plug one end of the HDMI cable into your HDMI input on your laptop
- Plug the other end of the cable into one of the HDMI inputs on your TV
- Using the remote control, select the input that corresponds to where you plugged in the cable (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3, etc.).
- Check to see if your web browser is updated
- If you are trying to use your camera, make sure your camera is turned on. Most online meeting platforms have an icon that looks like a video recorder that will turn you webcam on and off.
- If you are trying to view a video - try watching at a lower quality. You can check the quality of the video by placing your curser over the player and clicking on the text that says. Video plays best 720, 480, 360, or 240. If you are unsure start with the lowest video quality (240) and work your way up.
- Check that the volume control on your computer as well as the volume control on the program are both turned up.
- Search Control Panel in your menu bar – click “hardware and sound” here you will be able to access your computers sound options.
- If you are using external speakers make sure they are connected properly, turned on, and turned up.
If you are having any problems with audio or video quality of the livestream, please try these things:
- Refreshing the browser page
- Changing the resolution by clicking on the little gear at the bottom of the livestream screen to 720 or 520
- Try using a different browser
